Tom Bartlett

Strategy and Operations

Tom trained as a teacher of Drama and English and, after completing his probationary year in a London primary school, Tom spent 15 years teaching in Botswana in Southern Africa. Here he was a teacher, Headteacher and Teacher Trainer. After completing a Masters Degree in Education Leadership and Policy, he returned to the United Kingdom and began a second career teaching Business Studies and then English in schools in Oxfordshire, before joining Waingels College in 2008 as a Deputy Head. He was appointed as Headteacher at Waingels in January 2016.  Tom has led the formation of the Orchard Learning Alliance from its inception and became the Chief Executive Officer in 2022.
