South Lake Primary School is in Woodley. It is a happy, diverse school with a strong nurturing ethos that leads to great academic and social outcomes.
We have great resources, including an extensive Forest School, which the children love to spend time in. We are a friendly, inclusive community and our children thrive; relationships are the key to our success across the whole school, from the leadership team to the school dog!
At South Lake Primary School we are committed to equity and justice. We aim for every pupil to fulfil their potential, no matter what their needs. Our school is committed to anti-discriminatory practice to promote equality of opportunity and we value the diversity of our children, families and staff.
We believe that children achieve well and flourish when they feel safe and happy, and their well-being is our first priority.
We enable our children to become independent, resilient learners who approach their work with a positive attitude and an understanding that taking risks and making mistakes are part of learning.
We work closely with our families to get the provision right for each child and offer the support needed to remove any barriers to learning.
We decided to join the Orchard Learning Alliance because our staff had benefited from working with colleagues from other schools, sharing their own best practice and learning from others. We want to be able to continue this and to be part of a group of schools who share the same values and aspirations for their children.
We know that there is strength in being together, and we also want to keep our school as the unique place it is – and being part of OLA allows the collaboration and best practice of togetherness, and the independence to keep our individuality.
